ChatGPT, which claims to answer all the questions of any exam, has been making fun of for the last few days for solving less than 60% of UPSC paper questions. The chatbot of Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI powered OpenAI has the answer to every single question. Launched in the month of November 2022, ChatGPT has also been successful in all the difficult examinations of the world in the last few days.
It has passed from MBA program of a famous foreign university to American Medical Licensing exam. Analytics India magazine-AIM has also been experimenting with ChatGPT for some time now. For this purpose, the agency thought that if it can crack all the big exams of the world, then what will be the answer when this tool is faced with UPSC questions? But you will be surprised to know that the AI tool had sensed the tough exam even before solving the UPSC Prelims exam.
What is ChatGPT ?
The full form of Chat GPT is Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer. When we search something on Google, we get many types of answers. But when we ask some questions to ChatGPT, it gives very accurate answers with the help of artificial intelligence. Answers by this AI tool seem exactly like those written by humans.
The Civil Services Examination of India is one of the toughest examinations in the world. Last year alone around 11 lakh candidates appeared for UPSC. 95%  got out of the pre exam itself and only about 5 %  were able to make it to the main exam. Out of those 5%, only a few were able to clear the mains exam and cleared the interview round and later on appointed as Indian Administrative Officers (IAS).

UPSC exam is one of the toughest when it comes to recruitment exams in India. An AI system named ChatGPT also failed in UPSC exam. An interesting case was witnessed when ChatGPT attempted to solve the UPSC preliminary exam. This AI system has failed to clear the exam. Artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT was launched in November 2022 an it has been in discussion since its launch. It has won a lot of praise by passing many difficult exams.
The AI ​​chatbot showed its capabilities by cracking the final exam of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Apart from this, ChatGPT also performed brilliantly in the medical test of USA. ChatGPT, who has the arrogance of answering all the questions of the world’s toughest exam, could not answer all the questions in the UPSC Prelims paper. It did not answer about 44 out of 100 questions.

How many marks did ChatGPT get?
For the last few months, Open AI ChatGPT is in discussion in the world of technology. To check its intelligence, now different types of exams have been organizing to checks its knowledge. Now ChatGPT has also given India’s most difficult exam UPAC. However, Open AI failed miserably in this test. There is no doubt that CSE by UPSC is considered to be the toughest exam in India.
Proving the same thing, ChatGPT has also failed to clear the UPSC exam. ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trend Transformer) is designed for human-like text based on the given input. But ChatGPT has failed in the UPSC preliminary exam. The AI ​​chatbot could answer only 54 questions out of 100 in UPSC Prelims 2022 Question Paper 1 (Set A). Considering the previous year’s cut-off, it has failed in the exam of UPSC.
What kind of questions were asked to ChatGPT?
OpenAI claims that ChatGPT has limited knowledge of the world and events after the year 2021. AIM-Analytics India magazine claims that they went ahead and sent all 100 questions of UPSC Prelims Question Paper 1 (Set A) to ChatGPT. Surprisingly the AI ​​chatbot ChatGPT could answer only 54 out of 100 questions and the questions asked to ChatGPT were from various subjects.
Questions from subjects like Geography, Economy, History, Ecology, General Science and Current Affairs were asked from ChatGPT. Howevere we should keep in mind that the knowledge of ChatGPT is till 2021 so it does not have data for the current period. It provided wrong answers to subjects like Geography and Economics and the current affairs questions were from 2022, ChatGPT failed to answer.
