Corona Cases August 17 India Witnesses Massive Dip In Coronavirus Cases, Records 25K Infected In Last 24 Hrs

Corona Update: India reports 25,166 new cases in the last 24 hours, lowest in 154 days. Active cases decline to 3,69,846, lowest in 146 days; recovery at 97.51%
KeralaKerala logged 12,294 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours, pushing the overall infection count to 36,81,965, as the number of related deaths rose to 18,743 with 142 fatalities in the same period.As many as 18,542 people have recovered since Sunday, taking the total recoveries to 35,10,909, bringing the number of active cases to 1,72,239, a state government release said.In the last 24 hours, 87,578 samples were tested and the test positivity rate was found to be 14.03 per cent. So far, 2,95,45,529 samples have been tested in the state, the official release said.Some of the worst affected districts in the state are Malappuram (1,693 cases), Kozhikode (1,522 cases), Thrissur (1,394 cases), Ernakulam (1,353 cases), Palakkad (1,344 cases) and Kannur (873 cases).
MaharashtraTEN MORE cases of Delta Variant variant of SARS-CoV2 virus were identified across Maharashtra on Monday, taking the total count in the state to 76. Of the 10 new cases, six were identified in Kolhapur, three in Ratnagiri, and one in Sindhudurg. The state has so far reported five deaths due to the variant.
Of the 76 persons detected with Delta Plus, 10 were fully vaccinated while 12 had received a single shot of the Covid vaccine. Two persons had got Covaxin doses while the remaining had got the Covishield vaccine shot. While 39 patients are women, nine are children below the age of 18 years, as reported by PTI.
