Holika Dahan Story
In Puranas different worship legends are proposed regarding Holika, Chhoti Holi i.e. Holika Dahan is a very important festival for Hindus. In relation to the Holika Dahan Story, there is a belief that the demon King Hiranyakashipu, who had a unique boon, could not kill any human or animal. Being proud of the boon, the evil Hiranyakashipu started considering himself as God and started forcing people to worship him by threatening them with his power.
But his son Prahlad did not agree to accept his father as God, on this he tried several times to get his son killed. Sometimes opening it in the cauldron, sometimes with weapons and sometimes by throwing it from the mountain, but all his efforts failed, because Prahlad was blessed by God. At last he thought of killing Prahlad along with his sister Holika.
At first Holika refused but later she was forced to come under pressure from her brother. And wearing the clothes of her fire shield, took Prahlad with her and sat in the fire, she secretly put the clothes of her fire shield on Prahlad. And she got burnt in the fire. In this way, according to the Holika Dahan Story, since then we celebrate the festival of Holika Maiya.
