New Delhi: Your employer will only be able to credit money in your Provident Fund (PF) account from next month onwards if your UAN (Universal Account Number) is linked to your Aadhaar card.Hence, it is mandatory to link your Aadhaar card with the provident fund account to get various benefits of the retirement fund.READ: SEBI Notes The Changes Made In Ruchi Soya’s Offer DocumentThis as the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has amended Section 142 of the Code of Social Security 2020 to implement this new rule.If you don’t meet the changed EPFO requirements, money won’t be credited into your account from next month.As per the changed rules of EPFO, it is mandatory for the people to link their UAN with Aadhaar. If you do not link your UAN with Aadhaar by August 31, you would not receive the monthly amount credited to your account.How to link EPF account with Aadhaar: Step 1: Login to the official website epfindia.gov.inStep 2: Click on ‘Online Services’ and go to ‘e-KYC Portal’. Step3: Click the Link UAN Aadhaar option.Step 4: Then enter your UAN number and registered mobile number.Step 5: You will receive OTP on your registered mobile number. Step 6: Enter this OTP and your Aadhaar number. Step 7: Click the Submit button and verify it by clicking on OTP verification.The EPFO had earlier in June also updated the norms for filing Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR). Thus, it is mandatory for the employers to seed the Aadhaar number of its employees with UAN by August 31, 2021, while filing ECR.The employers were asked to ensure that linking of Aadhaar and UAN must be done to avail uninterrupted services.
