The video seems to express the collective relief of the 168 evacuees after days of being stuck and their fate seemed to be undecided. The Indian Air Force (IAF) special repatriation flight, the C-17 aircraft from Kabul brought back 168 evacuees, including 107 India. The aircraft arrived at the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad. Passengers who arrived here will first undergo a COVID RT PCR test.”An infant has also landed in a special IAF flight to India without a passport,” an evacuation coordinating official told ANI.According to ANI’s sources, India has been allowed to operate two aircraft per day from Kabul to bring back its nationals from Kabul. The permission was granted by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces which have been controlling operations of the Hamid Karzai International Airport after the Afghan capital fell to the Taliban on August 15, 2021. One of the evacuees, Dipen Sherpa from Afghanistan who came to Delhi told ANI, “The situation in Afghanistan is very dangerous for people, with firings and bombings all around. The Taliban cannot be trusted. They are beating up people. We were living in fear.”Countries have been urgently evacuating their citizens from the war-torn nation. Spokesperson of the ministry of external affairs (MEA), Arindam Bagchi, tweeted earlier to say that two Nepalese citizens were among those on board the Air India flight from Kabul.
